So here I was hiking through the woods near the Des Moines River looking for some good nature shots and I stumble across one of the local druids. I tell him that I am looking for a unique shot and he then gets this weird grin on his face when BAM! I’m a squirrel, it was just like out of that Disney movie “The Sword and The Stone.” Lucky I still have thumbs and my camera shrank with me. I was able to get this one shot before I was turned back. I never was able to find the druid to thank him for the opportunity, he didn’t even leave tracks in the snow.
A stark reminder of a time that felt the need was dire enough to rivet these to church walls.
This is an HDR shot of the bible on the alter at Zion Lutheran Church.
This is a Harry Lauder’s Walking Stick covered in ice. I love this little tree, I hope it does well.
This is a close up of a chain link fence. Using flash when taking pictures of ice at night has kind of a neat effect. Go out and try it sometime when there is ice.
If you recall my post, I-80, about me having some trouble with stepping on ice covered snow this is the location where I discovered it. Yes, you guessed it, that is all ice. The spiral ramp in the distance is the ice mountain that I had the navigate using my tripod for support. The illuminated trees to the left are where yesterdays shot came from.
